Bananas for Bunting

Sometimes I go on crochet kicks...where I feel the need to crochet many different versions of a similar item. I found some cute pics on Pinterest of some fun crochet bunting...and having an embarrassingly large stash of small amounts of yarn in every color of the rainbow...I went a little nuts!

I started with a traditional version of bunting - little triangle flags - and did a fun "granny square" take on a triangle.

Then I went to some classic pink and red hearts for Valentine's Day.

After that I rocked out some little blue heart bunting (which is now hanging proudly in the Deer Creek Intermediate School Office...more on that later.)

I have baby on the brain...all the time...so my next idea was for sweet little pastel birdies and hearts.

Then I ran with the nursery idea and went with a sports theme...which I think would be really cute for a nursery or a little boy's
room!

Whew! I think that should be it for a while.

I have all these bunting sets still available (except for the blue hearts) and I can ship them immediately to you. Or I can take special orders. If I can make it into a crochet appliqué...I can make it into bunting...so let your imagination run wild!

My handsome husband surprised me with a 5th anniversary trip to Disney World in July for Valentine's Day...and I have Mickey on the brain now too...so maybe I will have to start working on a mouse ear bunting!!!!

Bravery

I am working on becoming a smidge braver when it comes to tackling more complicated patterns. I have knocked out a super cute diaper cover AND conquered my fear of a pattern I purchased months ago for a little girl's dress! Purchased it because jt was way too cute. Panicked when I read the pattern. Shockingly, the dress was super simple and without a doubt has become my favorite project! I am blissfully pleased with how well it turned out! I can't wait to play with different yarn weights and hook sizes and actual dress sizes.

New Year...New Projects!

I have been completely blessed this holiday season by an overwhelming response of Facebook following and special ordering! Here are pics of some recent special orders. I have taken on some pretty fun new projects (mermaid tails, legwarmers, etc.)

Making a list...checking it twice...

Happy Holidays from ThirtyTwoTwentyKnits! Even though it feel far more like Spring time here in OKC, ThirtyTwoTwenty is decked out in Christmas Joy and the yarn is flying. With a special order list and a personal "to knit" list...it is probably a blessing that we got all the decor up pre-Thankgiving, because at this point it is all crochet, all the time.

The show at Sunnylane was a great success. It was the first time I used the Square trinket for my phone to be able to accept cards at the show. I got some fun special orders and sold lots of existing stock! And to top it all off, surrounded by lovely people all day long.

Here are some fun projects I have completed recently:

Special Order Princess Crown Headband for Miss Parker! Based on the pattern by Alli over at www.allicrafts.blogspot.com (see her free pattern here).

 

Here is Miss Lylleigh's Ladybug Hat! I was shocked at how awesome this turned out considering I was going completely off of photos as inspiration (because I was finding pics I loved, but not patterns I loved...yay crochet!

 

Stop being so darling Miss Harley! In her pink and grey Special Order Sock Monkey Hat (again, done completely off of just looking at some photos of other hats I really liked...couldn't find a pattern I was in love with). Love this baby girl!

 

Little lady crocheted wrist warmers with a crossed double crochet pattern to add some interesting detail, black sparkly yarn (sooooo soft!), and lime green & hot pink buttons just for fun! I will post a pattern for these someday (but honestly, they are just crocheted rectangles or squares sewed up the side with a little hole left for the thumb). These are Indiana bound for someone special...shhhh Christmas present!

 

These little Mary Jane Bow Slippies are a ThirtyTwoTwenty Original Pattern as well and went promptly to Indiana for a brand new little one!

'Tis the Season!

It's that time of year when the orders for wintery gifts and holiday wish lists start to come in. It's just started to get cold here in OKC and so I have been more than happy to curl up with a good movie, hot tea, and yarn and get moving on some cold weather projects!

It's also time for the winter craft fair I do each year. I have had a booth at a few here in the city in the past three years - but this show is my fave and really the only one I do consistently (due to the sales, the wonderful people, and the fabulous proximity to my work - I always have a wedding immediately after a show it seems).

Sweet Sweater Set!

Last post of the weekend. Baby girl dress / top with a scalloped beanie.

The sweater "dress" is a variation of this pattern:

I didn't make it as long and didn't go for the long sleeve look...it would be super cute with some leggings.

Even though I went for an abbreviated version of the pattern...it worked up super fast.

I want to make some ankle bell cuffs to match ... I think I have just enough of the green yarn left!

And the hat I just whipped up using a variation of different starts, stitches, and scallops...I will try to write the pattern up and post it soon!

Baby Bonnet

Found this absolutely precious (free!) pattern from crochetlatte.com for a baby bonnet. It was way too cute to resist.

I tried the pattern last night and it came out fairly small (I mucked something up) but did get a really cute preemie/brandnewborn size. I crochet really tight and I often times have to adjust my tension, size of yarn or hook.

So today I adjusted all three (fought with myself to crochet a bit more loosely, went with three strands of a 3 ply yarn, and went up to a 5mm hook as opposed to a 4.5mm)...and here's what I got:

This crochets up really really quickly and would make a perfect baby gift. I am now thoroughly addicted!
