Loom Knitting Lessons
About the Lessons
This is a great beginner’s class, ideal for kids 8-12 years
old. Loom Knitting Lessons can spark interest in the fiber arts, hone fine
motor skills, and encourage creativity. The lessons equip each student with a practical
skill and a life-long hobby, which can help promote self confidence and self
sufficiency. It is an ideal course to take prior to a beginning crochet class.
At the end of the six lessons, the new knitter will have
mastered:
- Loom knitting on round loom and long loom
- Knitting a hat and scarf
- Pompoms, fringe, and flowers to embellish their new accessories
Their new skills will also enable them to make tote bags, headbands,
afghans, and much more in the future. Emphasis will be placed on reading
patterns. The new knitter will also be given a multitude of online resources
for tutorials, patterns, and videos in order to keep their skills sharp and
their growth continual even after the lessons are over.
How To Get Started
Come visit with me for a Free Initial Consultation so that I
may assess skill level and you may assess your interest level – You get to
check out the looms, hooks, yarn, watch me complete some stitches and try some
stitches yourself, see some finished pieces, talk about what the lessons will
look like and how much practice between would be necessary (approximately 30-45
minutes).

***For the young crocheter, my Loom Knitting Class would be
a good course to take before this one, as it can aide in refining the fine
motor skills required to crochet. But Beginning Crochet can also be taken with
no introduction course.
FAQ's
Private Lessons vs. “Group” Lessons
Having one-on-one attention during this particular learning process can be desired and even beneficial for some students. But as I am perfectly comfortable teaching this particular skill to up to five students for Loom Knitting and up to three students for Basic Crochet, I am am willing to offer discounted rates for small groups
The package also includes email/phone help in between lessons…there are lots of questions that come up during the learning process and in order to aid in constant forward progress the new crocheter or their parent may call or email and even swing by for a couple of minutes to get the student back on track. The feeling of being “stuck” during the learning process is frustrating and it would be my pleasure to work with you throughout the lessons.
Where Do The Lessons Take
Place ?
Ideally the lessons would take place in my home where I and
the student(s) would have full access to my entire stock of supplies and tools.
My husband and I live in the lovely Linwood
Place neighborhood in Oklahoma City and would be honored to welcome
you into our home. We can discuss other locations for the lessons to take place
if necessary.
