May?! Oh my!

What another long break that I have taken from updating the blog! Hopefully the true ThirtyTwoTwenty fans keep up with me on Facebook and Twitter (which I update much more often). But I will do my best to try to update this a smidge more often - now that life has hopefully settled a bit (no more regular wedding coordinating - even though I will be helping two friends with their weddings this fall and cannot wait).

So here are some photo updates of the post Christmas crochet and into the Spring (that already feels like summer - it was in the upper 90's today in OKC!)

As the spring wore on and more pregnancy announcements came at me in every direction - I began to dream of little bitty fashion statements and started making them come to life with yarn:

 

 

 

At a crafterevening that was hosted at my house this spring - one of my precious friends who is expecting in September made a DARLING mobile out of felt raindrops and it inspired me to get to crocheting some darling little drops myself. Here was the result. Cloudy Day Crib Mobile. 

 

Just finished the spring show at Sunnylane Family Church (my "go to" Fall and Spring show) and it was great as usual. Here are just a few of my booth - my handsome fabulous awesome (I am kissing up big time here) husband helped me make some new display pieces so I could hang my ponchos and dresses and also a few strands of bunting up high:

A sweet friend stopped by my booth and saw me finishing up a cotton crochet coaster (I usually crochet or knit during the entire show - it draws people in and helps me get a lot accomplished). She asked if she could hang out until I finished it and then buy it... and of course I obliged! She sent me this pic after the show - brings me great joy to see my expressions of yarn love in other people's homes.

 

Just finished a fun crochet contest on Facebook - and gave away a set of 4 in the winner's choice of color. I can't wait to work them up and post them for you to see!

(almost) Spring Cleaning

While the weather here in OKC waffles between winter and spring, we are starting to get into some spring cleaning at The 3220. Prepping for an exciting vacation this summer, out of town guests in a few weeks, and trying to have a baby (since forever it feels like some days) gets a girl into nesting mode, I guess. So we have been tearing down, reorganizing, storing, un-storing, cleaning, and sorting for the last couple of weeks. It has been extremely productive - and there is still so much more to do. When you choose to move into a historic home with decently small square footage, you have to get creative.

As we begin to hope and pray more fervently for a baby to be on the way, we have begun to clear the room we plan on making the nursery. That room has up until a few days ago housed all of my knitting and crochet supplies (yarn, hooks, needles, current stock, books, etc). But it takes up A LOT of space. So eventually, when The Nursery is a nursery, Crochet Central will need to be moved. And I thought, "No time like the present!"

So I got the chance to clear a space in our upstairs that I lovingly call The Book Nook. The Book Nook is the space above our living room and below the highest peak on our roof. So we are talking narrow width, sloped ceilings, tons of built in shelving and a tiny window that overlooks our lovely street. It is quite charming.

Years ago, our upstairs was cut into and changed from attic space to a medium sized room, a bathroom (that used to be a very tight full bath and now we are changing it to a normal sized half bath), and The Book Nook. We spend very little time up there. Partially because it is a little messy...but also because we have a great sized living room and bedrooms downstairs...we just don't make it up there very often. But I have a sneaky feeling I will be venturing up there a little more now...because The Book Nook IS NOW CROCHET CENTRAL!!!! Hooray!

The only thing it is missing is some legit seating...so, don't worry - a massive 7 foot bean bag love seat is on it's way to my house and my heart. Adam wanted to know if he would ever see me again after I got it.

I told him I didn't know.

 

I have also squeezed some time in between all the boxing and unboxing and reorganization to crochet a little. I whipped this guy up after watching a popular Pixar film and being inspired by a funny little monster :-)

 

 

Then my loyal Facebook fans started ordering away and I rocked out three earwarmer headwraps and a beanie in a few short days and got them sent away to blustery Indiana.

 

 

I know Miss Courtney will look so cute wearing this all over the IU campus in Bloomington...or as my brother and all his cool friends say, "B-Town."

 

 

...Wanetta and Kathryn, enjoy your earwarmers. I pray the best for your friend and hope she enjoys her cozy beanie. I went for the cheeriest colors I could find!

 

I also just sent a sweet sweater and earflap hat to my cousin in Indiana. She will send it along to a new little family member being born in May in Argentina! Dani...please send pics of this precious little one in her crocheted cuteness!

Happy Holidays from ThirtyTwoTwentyKnits! Even though it feel far more like Spring time here in OKC, ThirtyTwoTwenty is decked out in Christmas Joy and the yarn is flying. With a special order list and a personal "to knit" list...it is probably a blessing that we got all the decor up pre-Thankgiving, because at this point it is all crochet, all the time.

The show at Sunnylane was a great success. It was the first time I used the Square trinket for my phone to be able to accept cards at the show. I got some fun special orders and sold lots of existing stock! And to top it all off, surrounded by lovely people all day long.

Special Order Princess Crown Headband for Miss Parker! Based on the pattern by Alli over at www.allicrafts.blogspot.com (see her free pattern here).

 

Here is Miss Lylleigh's Ladybug Hat! I was shocked at how awesome this turned out considering I was going completely off of photos as inspiration (because I was finding pics I loved, but not patterns I loved...yay crochet!

 

Stop being so darling Miss Harley! In her pink and grey Special Order Sock Monkey Hat (again, done completely off of just looking at some photos of other hats I really liked...couldn't find a pattern I was in love with). Love this baby girl!

 

Little lady crocheted wrist warmers with a crossed double crochet pattern to add some interesting detail, black sparkly yarn (sooooo soft!), and lime green & hot pink buttons just for fun! I will post a pattern for these someday (but honestly, they are just crocheted rectangles or squares sewed up the side with a little hole left for the thumb). These are Indiana bound for someone special...shhhh Christmas present!

 

These little Mary Jane Bow Slippies are a ThirtyTwoTwenty Original Pattern as well and went promptly to Indiana for a brand new little one!

Happy Birthday December

On my husband's side of the family (his Mother's side) there are an abnormal amount of December birthdays (plus my papa's). So along with all of my holiday knitting and crocheting, I am blessed to be able to gift many others during the month of December with handmade items.

Tonight I gave an apple cozy, mug cozy, and a darling earflap hat! The hat is a combo of a few patterns plus some big changes made by me in order to fit exactly what I am thinking. I will post the pattern someday.
